The Monadnock Pastoral Poetry Retreat


The Monadnock Pastoral Poetry Retreat (May 21-23, 2010, at Barbara C. Harris Center, Greenfield, NH) still has two open slots available for this year's retreat.  Weekend workshops led by poets John Hodgen, Jim Beschta, Susan Roney-O'Brien and novelist Terry Farish.   Cost of $350 includes room and board.  Send 3 poems for workshopping or 5-10 pages of fiction.

New Hampshire Writers' Project (NHWP) Writers' Day

Join hundreds of other writers for a day of writing workshops, panel discussions, networking sessions, pitch sessions, Literary Idol, and much, much more! Featuring keynote speaker Nicholson Baker, best selling author of seven novels and three works of nonfiction, including Double Fold, which won a 2001 National Book Critics Circle Award. He will discuss his most recent novel, The Anthologist, which is set in Portsmouth and deals with the life of a poet.

Gulf Coast Writers Association's "Let's Write" Contest Now Open

 

The "Let's Write" contest is in its 20th year, with a consistent record of high quality winners.  Besides the $750 in prize money, each of the top four finishers receives a plaque, and their work published in a special edition of our magazine, "The Magnolia Quarterly".  Entry fee is only $8.  All submissions must be postmarked by April 15, 2010.

Absent Willow Review Writing Contest

 

The Absent Willow Review has announced their first annual Horror, Fantasy & Science Fiction
short story contest.


First Prize - 150.00
