About Us
For over 40 years, the Monadnock Writers’ Group has inspired and provided a support network for writers of the Monadnock region. Our lectures and events provide insights into the craft and process of writing as well as the ins and outs of the publishing world.
We meet on the third Saturday of each month (except July and August) to hear professionals speak about their area of writing expertise. These meetings are open to the public. Members receive a monthly newsletter, The Quill, and can opt to submit a short bio to this web site. Members also can volunteer to read a 10-minute excerpt of their writing at the monthly meetings. Click here for information about becoming a member.
We have an elected Board of Directors from the membership, who arrange for monthly speakers, write the monthly newsletter, and maintain the web site. Any member may apply to be on the board. Meet Our Board of Directors
An affiliated online literary journal, Smoky Quartz, is published twice a year. Members and non members may submit work. A ten-year printed anthology of Smoky Quartz came out in 2022.
