Monadnock Writers’ Group offers several writing contests open to the public:

Poetry in the Pines Contest —

Monadnock Writers’ Group and Cathedral of the Pines in Rindge have collaborated on a poetry contest for several years. The winning poems are displayed on the trails at Cathedral of the Pines in Rindge.​

Look for notices about current contests in The Quill, or when announced at monthly MWG meetings.

​​Since 1945 Cathedral of the Pines has honored the service of American men and women. Its open-air cathedral and historic monument located in Rindge, NH are open to the public as a place of spiritual, cultural, and environmental appreciation.

Three-Minute Fiction Slam Competition — 

Monadnock Writers’ Group sponsors a preliminary round of the statewide Three-Minute Fiction Slam competition. The competition is open to anyone to read three minutes of original fiction to our panel of judges. The Peterborough winner is invited to read at the state finals sponsored by the New Hampshire Writers’ Project (NHWP).
