Three-Minute Fiction Slam Competition
Monadnock Writers’ Group sponsors a preliminary round of the statewide Three-Minute Fiction Slam competition. The competition is open to anyone to read three minutes of original fiction to our panel of judges. The Peterborough winner is invited to read at the state finals sponsored by the New Hampshire Writers’ Project (NHWP). The MWG’s annual Three-Minute Fiction Slam took place at our October 15th meeting. Judges Linda Warren and Emily Robbins-Sharpe selected Laura Dedmon of Francistown for her piece, “Lessons,” as the first-place winner. Michael Matros of Keene took second place for “Eliza’s Artisanal Paint Shop,” and Brenna Manuel of Stoddard won third place for "The Button Behind Her.” Laura will advance to the state round of the competition on November 12th, 7 pm in the Mara Auditorium at the SNHU Manchester campus.
