SPRING ISSUE CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
Writers and Artists with Ties to New Hampshire
Invited to Submit Work

Smoky Quartz, a journal of literature and art, is accepting submissions of prose, poetry, and art for its Spring 2024 online issue from January 15 to March 15, 2024. Anyone interested can read the complete submission guidelines at www.smokyquartz.org/submissions.

Both new and established writers and artists who have a connection to New Hampshire are invited to submit work. Those selected for publication will join a distinguished list of prior contributors including past New Hampshire poet laureate Alice Fogel, Pushcart Prize-nominated writer Michael Keshigian, and other award-winning writers and artists including Becky Dennison Sakellariou, Rodger Martin, Eric Pinder, Soosen Dunholter, and Barbara Danzer.

The Editorial Team for this issue includes Deborah Murphy, Deni Dickler, and Fred Gerhard. Each of the Editors is a published writer bringing in-depth expertise to the selection process. On February 4, 2:00 p.m. the Editors are holding an online reading featuring writers from the Fall 2023 issue and the Tenth Anniversary Anthology. The reading is free and open to the public. For a link to the event, email smokyquartz@gmail.com.

Smoky Quartz, founded in 2012, is published by the Monadnock Writers’ Group. The journal is named after New Hampshire’s state gem. It promotes writers and artists with ties to the Granite State. Each issue of the journal includes poetry, prose, and a diverse selection of art and photography.
